“Silver Lights”

“Silver Lights”

This is my relapse
The sound of silver calling
Witness my collapse
With burning flowers falling

I’m reaching out to hold this
I’m trying not to fold in
Do you remember before the storm?
There were smiles wide back then
There was sunlight way back when
Now I’m fighting for a chance at warmth

Every time I try to fly
I believe lies in the dark
Thinking I see with new eyes
Broken lights will leave me blind
And slowly, I’ll fall apart

I’m dreaming of the old days
I know how I fell away
Now, I don’t remember how to see
Then, I never had to fake
When the air around me stayed
Now I’m fighting for a chance to breathe

This is my relapse
The sound of silver calling
Witness my collapse
With burning flowers falling
